Lang Monument orders from a variety of sources, thereby expanding the selection of stones. Sources include stone mined within the United States, Canada, Africa, India, and Asia. We can help you choose the perfect stone from a region of your preference, if needed.
We will guide you through the decisions and options during your initial visit to our showroom. It is helpful – although not required – to know the cemetery where the memorial will be installed. Many other decisions can be made during the selection process.
Generally a flush marker will take around four weeks from the time of ordering until it is ready to be installed at the cemetery. Slants and upright monuments take six to eight weeks and sizes that vary from the norm can take up to twelve weeks. We will inform you of the expected time period based on your choices and needs.
Most cemeteries have an installation fee which can include the pouring of a concrete foundation and/or installing the marker at the grave.
Most cemeteries have rules and regulations regarding the use and installation of headstones. Catholic cemeteries require a Christian symbol on all headstones as well as the lot number in the lower right corner of the marker. Some public and private cemeteries also require lot numbers on the markers. Specific cemeteries for a religion such as Orthodox may require a cross on the headstone. At Lang Monument we are familiar with the requirements of most local cemeteries and can provide that information for you.
At Lang Monument we personally deliver your memorial to the cemetery. In Catholic Cemeteries, we are required to deliver the marker to the service garage where the cemetery field workers will install the marker. Upright monuments and slant markers are delivered directly to the grave by our family. We make sure the foundation is level and we properly install your memorial.
Most cemeteries will allow a photograph to be etched directly on the marker. Some cemeteries allow colored ceramic oval insert or black granite photo etched inserts on a marker. We can discuss the requirements of your chosen cemetery during the selection process.
